A Career That Continues to Shape the Profession

Gil has spent more than 55 years practicing accounting, and his influence on the profession extends well beyond the engagements his firm has led. As the first Latino President of the California Board of Accountancy, overseeing more than 100,000 CPAs statewide, he shaped the regulatory framework of the profession itself. As founder of the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA), he helped build what is now the largest Latino professional organization in the United States, with over 100,000 members.

His leadership has extended across sectors and generations. He served on the executive board of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee and became a founding board member of the LA84 Foundation. He has chaired UnidosUS, the nation's largest Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization. He currently sits on the boards of Entravision Communications Corporation, Manufacturers Bank, and Vanir Construction Management, among more than 40 boards he has served across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
